Emco Fire Systems ("Emco," "we," "us," or "our") provides the Emco Fire Systems mobile application, connected products, websites, administrator tools, and related services (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.
The Services help users monitor wildfire activity and operate compatible fire-protection equipment. Some features require an Emco account, precise location, push notifications, or information about connected devices and cameras. We do not sell personal information, serve behavioral advertising, or use personal information to track users across other companies' apps or websites.
We collect information that you provide, information generated when you use the Services, and limited information received from service providers. The information collected depends on the features and permissions you use.
When you create or manage an account, we may collect:
If you provide another person's emergency contact information, you are responsible for having authority to provide it and for informing that person as required by applicable law.
With your permission, the App collects precise location while you are using it. Current location coordinates may be sent to Emco to display your position on the Fire Map and identify wildfire activity near your current location. You may also search for and save a precise home location and a location label for wildfire alerts and connected-equipment features.
The App does not request continuous background location access. You can change location permission in device settings, but disabling it may limit the Current Location option and location-based alerts. A saved home location may remain available until you change it, delete your account, or ask us to delete it, subject to the retention terms below.
When equipment is associated with your account, we may process device identifiers, device names and types, user assignments, configuration, online or connectivity state, operating commands, command responses, schedules, safety-control state, and related activity. We use this information to display and operate equipment, maintain safe operation, diagnose problems, and provide support.
If you add or use a camera, we may store camera names and types, brand and connection type, local or public IP addresses, HTTP, RTSP, and ONVIF ports, usernames and passwords, generated stream URLs, stream-quality preferences, thumbnail paths, online state, and related configuration. This information is linked to the account and is used to connect to camera streams and provide supported pan, tilt, and zoom controls.
The App displays requested live camera streams. Emco does not use the App to record, monitor, or upload live camera footage. Camera thumbnails or snapshots may be generated when a configured feature expressly requires them. Camera credentials and stream URLs should be treated as sensitive information and should not be shared in screenshots, support messages, or exported records.
If you enable notifications, we collect a push notification token, such as an Apple Push Notification service token or Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token, and associate it with your account. We may also store notification preferences, notification history, delivery information, and limited interaction or diagnostic information. We use this information to deliver wildfire, system, safety, account, and service notifications.
We and our service providers may receive IP address, device type, operating system, App version, application or installation identifiers, language, time zone, and limited diagnostic and delivery information. We use this information to authenticate requests, secure the Services, deliver notifications, maintain compatibility, investigate failures, and improve reliability. The current App does not use third-party advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking.
We use collected information to:
We share information only as needed to provide and protect the Services, comply with law, complete a business transaction, or with your direction. Service providers are permitted to process information for the services they provide to Emco, subject to applicable contracts and legal requirements.
Google and Firebase may process information under their own terms and privacy policies. Additional information is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy. Apple processes notification and device-service information under its privacy policy at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to respond to valid legal process, protect the rights or safety of users or others, investigate fraud or misuse, enforce our agreements, or protect Emco systems and property. If Emco is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable law.
Emco does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. The App does not serve third-party behavioral advertising and does not use personal information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. If these practices change, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required.
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, keep equipment and account records, maintain safety and security records, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention depends on the information and its purpose. Account and equipment configuration generally remains while the account is active. Short-lived operational and diagnostic records may be retained for a shorter period, while legal, safety, fraud-prevention, backup, and transaction records may be retained longer when permitted or required by law.
When information is no longer required, we delete it or de-identify it using reasonable procedures. Information may remain temporarily in backups until those backups are overwritten under our normal retention schedule.
Emco uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. These safeguards include access controls, authenticated API requests, encrypted network transport for production web and API traffic, and restrictions on operational access. No internet connection, wireless network, mobile application, or electronic storage system is completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting your account and camera credentials, using strong unique passwords, limiting access to trusted users, and securing networks and port-forwarding configurations used by connected equipment.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of certain personal information, and information about how it is used or disclosed. Some rights may be subject to identity verification and legal exceptions.
You may also:
You may request deletion directly in the App by opening Profile and selecting Delete Account. You may also email info@emcofiresystems.com for assistance. Deletion removes or de-identifies account information subject to records Emco is permitted or required to retain for legal, safety, security, warranty, fraud-prevention, dispute, backup, or other legitimate purposes. Deleting an account may prevent continued use of connected Emco equipment through the App.
The Services are not directed to children, and connected fire-protection equipment should be operated only by authorized and capable users in accordance with applicable safety and operating guidelines. Emco does not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law. If we learn that personal information from a child was collected improperly, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
Emco and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those locations may have data-protection laws different from the laws where you live. We use safeguards required by applicable law for international transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Services, connected products, business practices, legal requirements, or technology. We will update the Last Updated date and, when appropriate, provide notice through the App, website, email, or another reasonable method. Material changes apply as described in the notice and applicable law.
